Classes are held Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM for 6 ½ weeks and are offered in Knoxville and Morristown. During the clinical rotation phase of the program, students receive approximately two weeks of on-site, performance-based clinical experience at a local long-term healthcare facility.
Prospective students must pass a criminal background check, obtain a TB screening and attain an 8th grade reading level. Upon completion of all required classroom and clinical training, students will be guided in updating their resumes and meet with local employers who recruit directly from the class as part of a scheduled Career Day.
The cost of the program is $600, plus $140 for the NAT exam fee. Students have the option of earning Basic Life Support (BLS) certification during the course for an additional $65.00. Most individuals qualify for financial assistance and those receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits may qualify for full financial assistance through the SNAP Employment & Training program.
