Self-Paced Applications in the Computer Environment

SPACE provides participants with self-paced and/or instructor-led training in Microsoft 2007 Office applications in Windows, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. QuickBooks 2010 Training is also available. The program is divided into three levels, according to the level of computer training that each participant would like.

Pre-Skills: This course is recommended for participants who are going on to post-secondary training. It is approximately a four-week course, which teaches basic keyboarding skills, Windows, and both Word Basic and Word Advanced.

SPACE Basic: This course is recommended for participants who are interested in basic computer operation and entry-level clerical positions. It is approximately a five-week course, which teaches basic keyboarding skills, Windows, and the basic programs in Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.

SPACE Advanced: This course is recommended for participants who are interested in learning advance computer operation and advanced clerical positions. SPACE Basic is a prerequisite for this course. SPACE Advanced lasts approximately nine-weeks, which teaches basic keyboarding, Windows and advanced skills in Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.

Fees vary for this program and scholarships may be available, however the base cost for SPACE Basic is $550 and for SPACE Advanced is $350.
