SCREEN DESIGNS TAKE TITLES AT 2005 SOFTBALL TOURNEY
On Friday, June 17 and Saturday, June
18, 2005 men’s and women’s slow-pitch softball teams from across the region
competed in the 7th Annual Goodwill Industries’ Morristown Softball
Tournament at Frank Lorino Park, East Morris Blvd., Morristown.
D.P.D., sponsored by Dill Pickle Deli of Morristown, dominated the men’s competition to bring home the men’s first place trophy in the 7th Annual Morristown Softball Tournament. Screen Designs, sponsored by Screen Designs by Sheila, Morristown, led their women’s slow-pitch team to victory, earning themselves the women’s 2005 first place trophy.
New to the tournament was a Home Run Derby sponsored by Lakeway Sporting Goods, 1000 Cumberland St., Morristown. Ryan Hume of Tri-County Merchants took home the first Annual Morristown Softball Tournament Home Run Derby trophy.
All proceeds from the tournament will benefit Goodwill Industries’ programs that provided vocational services and employment to people with barriers to employment in your community. In 2004, Goodwill Industries-Knoxville, Inc. served more than 1,750 individuals placing more than 500 into training, vocational and employment services in Morristown and surrounding counties.
