Knox County Students Pack-A-Sack for Goodwill

Throughout the week of May 5th, students of Knox County elementary and middle school students are invited to celebrate National Goodwill Week, by bringing in gently used household items and clothing for Goodwill Industries. These donations will be placed in Goodwill stores and the proceeds allow Goodwill Industries-Knoxville, Inc. to provide vocational services and employment opportunities to individuals with disabilities or other barriers to employment – ultimately helping people to become self-sufficient and confident in their new-found skills.

Students will have an added surprise on Friday, May 9th when the United States Marine Corps Reserves visit each school to collect the donations for Goodwill Industries. In addition, participating students will receive a coupon for eighteen holes of miniature golf or 10 tokens from Zuma Fun Center (formerly Celebration Station) and a McDonald’s® hamburger and small drink.

Sponsors of this event include Goodwill Industries-Knoxville, Inc., McDonald’s, Zuma Fun Center, WBIR-Channel 10, Marine Corps Reserve, Star 102.1 and Knox County Schools.
