On April 11, 2018, community members came together to celebrate success at the 47th Annual Goodwill Awards at the Emporium Center in downtown Knoxville. The Goodwill Awards are an opportunity to recognize individuals who have show dedication, determination and diligence throughout the past year to reach their personal and professional goals.
We are honored to have been a part of the lives of nearly 3,000 individuals that sought job training and employment services through Goodwill in 2017. These program participants worked diligently with our Workforce Development team to overcome their individual barriers and obstacles. While all of our program participants are deserving of recognition, we chose to honor a select few who have shown truly exceptional growth and commitment during their time at Goodwill.
Best Work Ethic: John David Rice
The Best Work Ethic award is presented to one individual who has demonstrated that he has the drive, determination and desire to work. This individual values hard work and serves as a leader through example.
Most Determined to Succeed: Lexi Douglas
The Most Determined to Succeed award is presented to one individual who has shown great commitment and enthusiasm for her professional development, both at Goodwill and beyond. This individual shows determination for a better and brighter future.
Employee of the Year: Vickie Minor
The Employee of the Year award goes to an individual who has found employment in our community in the last year. They are an ideal employee, demonstrating a positive attitude and desire to do well in their new position.
Most Improved Program Participant of the Year: Amaryl Wood
The Most Improved Program Participant of the Year award is given to one individual each year whose development and transformation is truly outstanding. This individual demonstrates that the journey to success is not always easy, but that growth is always possible.
Employer & Employee Team of the Year: Terry Fudge and Harriman Food City
The Employer & Employee Team of the Year is presented to one individual and one company who have worked together for mutual success. The individual shows a drive and enthusiasm for work, while the employer supports the employee’s needs and provides an excellent place to work.
Congratulations to all the Goodwill Award winners! We are so proud of all of your accomplishments!
