Goodwill Haul: Party 17th Street Style

From Hawaiian shirts to western wear, nothing is more fun than a party with a theme. Being a UT student, I get invited to many themed events and Goodwill is always my go to place to find a unique outfit.

I recently decided that I was going to stock up on outfits for the most common themes to avoid any last minute panic over finding something to wear. I thought Goodwill’s 17th street location right next to UT’s campus would be the best place to start.

Here’s what I found:

Hawaiian

I chose this Hawaiian shirt because I love the color red, and while it is definitely Hawaiian, it’s not too over the top so I could see myself wearing it again. I would match it with some khaki shorts and flip flops to achieve the full vacation look.

Sports

I don’t know anything about sports so that means I should be the referee right? The 17th street Goodwill had a fantastic UT selection, but I chose this shirt because it looked similar to a referee jersey while still plain enough that I could wear it as part of my every day exercise clothes.

Decades

Accessories are what makes an outfit. I let the store manager know what I was doing and she helped me find all the parts to this one. It definitely takes me back to my childhood in the 90’s.

Camo

I’m not a huge fan of camo, but this jacket was such a good deal I couldn’t pass it up. The good thing about Goodwill is that after I wear it I can donate it back later. I’d match it with green pants and a white shirt to fit the color scheme.

Flannel

This flannel is something I already had and wear all the time, but since I got it from Goodwill I thought I’d include it anyways. I had a friend’s mom add a monogram on it for a personalized touch and it has become one of my favorite comfy shirts to wear.

An Outfit for Every Occasion

I was very happy with the outfits I found. Goodwill’s 17th street location has different themed outfit racks set up already and the store manager was more than willing to help me find anything else I was looking for. I’m excited to wear theses to upcoming date parties and if I need anything else, I know where to go.
